SPRING 2018 Description

Our Arts & Culture Spring term will focus on Japanese art and culture. We’ll be experimenting with Shibori stitching and dying; a manual resist dyeing technique which produces patterns on fabric. This project will segue into the story of Winnie-the-Pooh, the life experience of A. A. Milne, his exploration of the beautiful English countryside. The ink sketches of E. H. Shepard will be the inspiration for Spring Term, to produce our very own set design. Students will learn real world skills used in theatre to take art from story to stage. Emphasis will be placed on historical influence, scale, working as an artist in teams, and maintaining production consistency to create the illusion of technique.
